Shift Information
Monday- Friday 11:30am-8pm (overtime as needed; hours vary per volume; shift would start at 10:30am and end at 9pm for 10 hour shift)
How Will You Make an Impact:
The Material Handler I supports operations by storing and shipping materials at temperatures ranging from ambient (room temperature) to -196 degrees C with potentially hazardous properties.
A Day in the Life:
- Receive incoming raw materials
- Facilitate movement of materials including hazardous materials across the site
- Maintain accurate inventory through receipts adjustments and cycle count
*Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check to include drug screening.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Required: No previous work experience required
- Preferred: Experience in distribution warehouse or supply chain or related field
- Preferred: Experience with warehouse equipment
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
- Able to work independently and set priorities
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to work with methods to handle process and store specimens using a computerized storage and retrieval system
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Able to work in a cold environment with exposure to dry ice liquid nitrogen cryogenics hazardous and infectious agents and marked changes in temperature
- Must use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs and push up to 70 lbs
- Periodically work in walk-in freezers and refrigerators for up to 5 hours per day

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $13.82$20.74.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company team and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
