E-logic is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented System Technician to provide essential technical support to the 31st Medical Group (31st MDG) located in Aviano Italy. This position is a key member of the Information Management/IT Department serving as the primary point of contact for telephony customer service and IT inventory management within the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). The System Technician works under the guidance of senior IT staff to ensure the smooth operation of communication systems and the efficient management of IT resources.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical assistance for the MTF telephone system.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and respond to user inquiries about phone functionality.
- Configure and maintain telephone extensions and voicemail accounts.
- Assist with the installation and relocation of telephone equipment.
- Serve as the primary contact for IT-related requests providing prompt and courteous assistance.
- Log all customer service requests in the IT help desk system.
- Manage IT in-processing and out-processing for MTF staff.
- Perform basic IT tasks such as password resets and account unlocks.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets and track their movement.
- Conduct regular audits and assist with the disposal of surplus equipment according to DHA policies.
- Utilize the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system for inventory tasks.
- Set up computer workstations and assist with software installation.
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues.
- Maintain an organized work environment and adhere to all DHA IT security policies.
Required Skills:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Familiarity with basic telephony systems and IT help desk systems.
- Knowledge of IT inventory management principles.
- Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associates degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical support or customer service role with specific experience in telephony systems and IT inventory management.
- CompTIA A and CompTIA Network
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
