Job Description:

The RF Electrical Engineer will be supporting a large missile defense program. They will assist with the designing of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) that will test electrical and electromechanical components and systems at various points during the testing period and production line (support the design procurement assembly of the EGSE). This will include helping design the EGSE test racks themselves and the interfacing of the EGSE racks with the systems under test. This role requires working closely with other groups for design requirements and understanding the proper documentation process. The Electrical Engineer will work with the EGSE software development team so an understanding of software development/architecture is beneficial.

Required Skills:

  • Interconnect design;
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline;
  • 5 to 10 years of electrical engineering experience;
  • cable/wiring harness design;
  • hardware/component/material selection;
  • understanding of how several different electrical systems work and how they should integrate;
  • electrical circuit design digital communications (for example RS-422);
  • GPS & TLM RF switching design;
  • developing design documentation for outside vendors/contractors for deliverables to the EGSE group;
  • Active Secret security clearance;
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Desired Skills:

  • Masters degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline;
  • 5 to 10 years of electrical engineering experience;
  • Subsystem integration testing;
  • Experience with system and subsystem level testing is desirable;
  • RF experience/knowledge;
  • Experience with interconnect design;
  • Strong background with Visio;
  • Understanding of NI/LabVIEW architecture and software development.
