Position Overview
The Outside Services Manager is responsible for leading all facets of the outside golf operations overseeing a seasonal team of 1525 staff members. This highly visible role ensures an exceptional experience for members and guests from arrival to departure. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and organizational skills to an already dynamic golf operation working closely with the Golf Professional staff to deliver best-in-class service daily.
Experience & Qualifications
Preferred Background
- Experience in golf operations or hospitality leadership
- Proven ability to lead train and motivate a team in a service-focused environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with a proactive hands-on management style
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays throughout the golf season
Key Responsibilities
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team
- Recruit hire train and mentor a seasonal team of 1525 staff members
- Establish clear expectations and performance standards rooted in professionalism hospitality and attention to detail
- Foster a team culture built on accountability pride and service excellence
Deliver a Seamless Arrival-to-Departure Experience
- Oversee the entire outside service touchpoints including bag drop concierge service cart staging and farewell experience
- Ensure every member and guest is greeted warmly assisted promptly and supported with proactive anticipatory service
- Collaborate with the Director of Golf to ensure alignment with overall golf operation goals
Manage Daily Operations with Precision
- Maintain an immaculate cart fleet including cleaning staging fueling and maintenance tracking
- Ensure practice facilities are set up to club standards and continually restocked and refreshed throughout the day
- Uphold organization and cleanliness in the bag room ensuring accurate storage and prompt access to member equipment
Enhance the Member Experience through Concierge-Level Service
- Implement elevated curbside and concierge services during peak times offering bag assistance directions or transport as needed
- Train staff to recognize members by name anticipate preferences and resolve issues discreetly and professionally
- Serve as a visible leader during peak periods modeling elite hospitality and service responsiveness
Support Tournament & Event Execution
- Assist the golf professional staff in preparation and delivery of member and guest events outings and tournaments
- Manage logistics such as cart signage staging equipment movement and post-event equipment return
- Ensure all service touchpoints meet or exceed expectations during high-profile events
Maintain Operational Readiness and Safety
- Conduct daily opening and closing procedures for outside operations
- Monitor and maintain safety protocols for cart operation staff positioning and equipment handling
- Maintain accurate records of cart usage damage reports and supply inventory
