The Receptionist receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors so that all callers/visitors are attended to promptly courteously and accurately. The Receptionist performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments.

The Receptionist operates a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintains long distance call logs. Takes and distributes accurate messages. Greets visitors and determines the nature of their visit issues visitor passes and maintains visitor logs alerts appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office department or employee. Responds to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as the organizations location hours of operation phone numbers and/or email address. Additional responsibilities may include miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms typing organizing and distributing mail receiving and sending courier packages. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations quality standards priorities and timing and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.
Job Functions
  • Outreach to potential new patients and collecting patient charges.
  • Ensure quality customer problems are resolved.
  • Initiate coordination of care documents on behalf of patients.
  • Maintains the reception area appointment scheduling and verification of insurances.
  • Answer incoming calls and takes and distributes accurate messages.
  • Greets visitors and determines the nature of their visit.
  • Responds to routine inquiries from internal or external sources.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year or more of experience working in a Healthcare setting preferred but will consider candidates with a strong Customer Service background in Retail Hospitality Call Centers etc.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences and care
  • Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word Excel Outlook Access)
  • Must be able to work at the CenterWell Care clinic located at: 4050 Ryan St Lake Charles LA 70605

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years related experience preferred
  • Experience with EMR preferably ECW
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Associate degree
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology

Additional Information:
This role is considered patient-facing and is part of the companys Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role you will be required to be screened for TB.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills knowledge experience education certifications etc.
