The Raytheon team is looking for a Software Engineer II to support the AN/TPY-2 missile defense programs team Firefly and the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream delivering high-frequency high-quality deployments to our customers. Team Fireflys mission is to support domestic tests and internationally deployed assets. The team is responsible for installing configuring and calibrating radar software providing back support to tests and operations.

This position is onsite in Woburn MA when not traveling.

What You Will Do

• Availability and willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS (15% travel expected).

• Provide software reach-back support to OCONUS/CONUS sites through process updates or investigation or software anomalies. Support will occasionally be off-hours.

• Design develop and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile collaborative environment delivering build to site twice a year.

• Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.

• Work collaboratively with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze implement and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

• Experience with software development test and/or integration using C C or Ada.

• Experience with Scripting languages (C Shell Perl).

• Experience using debugging tools to quickly identify and fix software bugs as well as optimize code for performance.

• Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on XBR AN/TPY-2 COBRA DANE QEWR UEWR SRP or other current missile defense programs.

• Data analysis using any combination of scripting tools Python Matlab and COTS products.

• Knowledge of Redhat and Linux Operating Systems.

• Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g. Bitbucket/Artifactory Confluence Crucible Fisheye Jira) Jenkins Eclipse and Ansible.

• Experience with technical writing such as SVDs and process plans.

• Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum scrum at scale SAFe and DevSecOps.

• Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.

• Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems.

• Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• This position must be able to maintain a security clearance.   The salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
