DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager Surgical Access the Surgical Informatics Analyst works with Surgical Services serving Island Health and its related stakeholders by providing expert technical and business guidance to support the effective utilization and quality of surgical metrics and its integration with surgical systems used within the health authority and related provincial and national repositories.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
A level of education training and experience equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Health Information Science Computer Science Commerce or Business Administration.
Minimum of five (5) years recent experience in project management system analysis and design development and the use of a formal systems delivery methodology. Experience working in health care.
Skills And Abilities
- Proven consistent ability to keep up with new technologies as they are introduced to the workplace.
- Intermediate system implementation skills excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to write high quality technical and business documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Excellent presentation interviewing facilitating consulting and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of systems analysis and design techniques.
- Working knowledge of Structured Query Language and relational database concepts.
- Ability to work independently and as a team to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Ability to organize workload and priorities
- Knowledge and understanding of healthcare
