The primary purpose of the Early Intervention Supervisor position is to provide clinical and administrative supervision guidance technical assistance and support for the ITP Service Coordinators and other CDSA personnel who serve children referred to and enrolled in the NC Infant-Toddler Program. This position is housed in the main CDSA office in Concord.

This position is also responsible for hiring and training direct-service CDSA staff completing work performance evaluations and ensuring EISC and clinician compliance with State and Federal regulations for the Infant/Toddler Program.

Along with the Director and other staff this employee is also responsible for training/collaborating with other public and private providers of early intervention services and participates as a member of the CDSA Management Team in long-range planning policy and procedure development and budget management.

The position must hold a drivers license and be able to travel when or if required.

About the North Carolina Early Intervention (NCEI) Branch:
The North Carolina Early Intervention Branch (NCEI) is a part of the N.C. Division of Public Health. It is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program (ITP). The Infant-Toddler Program provides support and services for families and their children birth to three who have special needs. Research shows that this time period is critical. It offers a window of opportunity to make a positive difference in how a child develops and learns. Childrens Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) across North Carolina work with local service providers to help families help their children succeed.

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants that possess the following skills are preferred:

Typical child development developmental delays/disabilities and established conditions used to support program eligibility.
Organization and management of time and resources.
Working with regulations policies evidence-based practices and techniques applicable to the NC Infant-Toddler Program.
Planning developing directing and evaluating Infant-Toddler services.
Medicaid service definitions and documentation requirements
Coordinating and instructing staff family members and providers in methods and techniques utilized in Early Intervention.
Establishing rapport and relate to populations served families and community agencies and a variety of service disciplines.
Previous experience working in the NC Infant-Toddler program is strongly desired.
Experience in supervising and training other professionals.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to drive and travel by car across the CDSAs defined catchment area.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Qualified applicants must possess and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:

Masters degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional developmental disability or infant and child mental health experience preferably including administrative/supervisor experience;
OR
Bachelors degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional developmental disability or infant and child mental health experience preferably including one year of administrative experience;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
