Life as an Engineering Co-op

The co-op program provides each student with real-life hands-on experience coaching and mentoring and networking opportunities. When you join our family you will work on projects that improve your leadership analytical and project management skills. Be involved in the design development manufacturing and commercialization of new products or product modifications. Cross-functional teamwork provides an opportunity to partner with a variety of people in the organization. We offer an interactive team environment where your capabilities and skills will be developed to build a strong career foundation.

  • The team would prefer the candidate to be able to complete multiple rotations of a co-op.
  • Assignment will be onsite
  • The role may offer one-time housing stipend assistance
  • Transportation is the students responsibility
  • Full time availability (40 hours per week)
  • Career mentorship is available with endless networking opportunities within assigned team and beyond
  • Pay rate is determined based on the grade level at time of offer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design testing and implementation of process improvements
  • Collect and analyze data to identify process bottlenecks and potential areas for optimization
  • Support process validation and documentation activities
  • Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of production issues
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality operations and manufacturing engineering
  • Conduct safety and risk assessments related to process changes
  • Prepare reports and presentations on process performance and improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Candidate must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelors and/or Masters in materials engineering chemical engineering or other related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required
  • Must have completed one semester of school by the start of the co-op

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication presentation skills and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint)
  • Some experience with data analysis is a plus
  • Availability to work full-time 40hrs./week for the duration of the co-op is required
  • Availability to complete multiple rotations of a co-op is required
  • Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired
