Job Description
With the focus to serve the client and provide superior project delivery the architecture group works closely with all engineering disciplines and provides technical leadership for the team. Our Architecture team consults our clients regarding designs for new buildings restoring and conserving old buildings and developing new ways of using existing buildings. They provide experienced direction on developing project programs and design. Leads in the development of projects from preliminary through detailed construction documents. The Architecture group performs in all of BSI market segments and collaborates with all project team members.
Responsibilities
- With supervision researches programs plans designs and administers building projects for clients applying knowledge of architectural design construction detailing construction procedures zoning building codes building materials and systems
- Assist architects with drawing packages including creation of construction documents and other drawings necessary for projects
- Assist with the assessment of discipline scope deliverables assumptions and estimates budget for proposals
- Assists with quality and technical accuracy of project deliverables
- Shadows design proposals meetings with clients
- Assist with the coordination of the 3D model and/or site scans
- Participates in the inspection and examination of sites to determine building conditions
- Learn how to plan for and program layout of project(s)
- Learn how to considers other disciplines and overall project requirements during the project lifecycle
- Participates in interactive planning sessions to ensure scope schedule costs and quality are aligned to project objectives
- Pursuing a bachelors degree in DAAP or Architectural Engineering
- Prior Co-op experience preferred but not required
- Ability to set priorities and managing multiple tasks
- Positive conflict resolution skills
- Ability to analyze and critically assess problems
- Basic knowledge construction materials construction methods and industry standards
- Working knowledge of BIM modeling Revit and AutoCAD preferred
- Working knowledge in Presentation software (Photoshop SketchUp) preferred
