The Visualization Supervisor ensures that a filmmakers vision is realized within the scope of work on a show. Overseeing all aspects of visualization including previs techvis and postvis the supervisor exhibits the highest level of leadership project management and creative direction while also working alongside artists to design shots. Working with the Visualization Creative Director the Visualization Supervisor assumes ownership over an entire show and drives the production of shot work and sequences throughout the entire span of the production.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the overall tone of the work stays creatively consistent at every step and manages the scope of the work so that it stays within agreed upon schedule and budgetary limits.
Manage previs shot making and editing sequences based on the filmmakers ideas storyboards and/or script pages to construct a story that aligns with the filmmakers vision
Work closely with filmmakers to interpret and drive implementing their creative notes and ensure feedback from reviews is properly addressed
Oversee postvisualization shot creation and work with production editorial to ensure vfx elements are integrated seamlessly into live action plates.
Oversee and ideate with department supervisors on asset development mocap and animation.
Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration throughout the production process
Strategically manage resources and team schedules to promote efficiency and ensure successful delivery.
Supervise train and mentor team to create a unified vision for projects
Work with production support to plan schedules commit to deliveries and inspire artists to deliver remarkable results
Run team creative reviews and represent your team in internal and client creative reviews to ensure feedback from reviews is appropriately addressed.
Essential Skills:
8 years of experience supervising entire shows from previs to postvis
Extensive experience in shot and sequence generation with and without the use of storyboards and script
A comprehensivefilm vocabulary of genre shot design sequence progression camera moves lighting styles and acting choices based on years of film viewing both vfx driven and practical.
A strong understanding of industry trends and techniques
3 years Unreal experience
Artist and project management with experience in scheduling budgeting with producers and quality control
Adobe After Effects compositing proficiency
Nuke Skills (a plus)
Camera tracking proficiency using PFTrack/Syntheyes or similar software
Qualifications:
Possess an eye for visual detail and understand the technical specifications for each project.
A highly proactive problem-solver anticipating potential roadblocks and addressing them before they occur.
Understand cinematic language camera and lens packages
Possess a working knowledge of composition color timing animation and editing.
Original thinking and ownership over ideas
Maintain a high standard of quality and output.
Understand overall tone and purpose of a sequence within the context of a show and maintain continuity.
