Sound Equipment Specialist
USCs School of Cinematic Arts is seeking a Sound Equipment Specialist to join its Digital Media & Technology group. The School of Cinematic Arts is the premier school for the study of cinematic arts and works on the cutting edge of technology in all aspects of media production.
The Sound Equipment Specialist will supervise and operate the schools Sound Equipment Center. This includes the purchase maintenance and repair of on-set production audio equipment supporting classes and student productions. This includes check-in/check-out procedures hiring and training student workers who support the Sound Equipment Center as well as working with faculty and staff to determine the optimal set of equipment to support each level of curriculum.
The candidate should have strong customer service skills and a willingness to help and encourage users of all skills levels.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
3 years of experience in on-set production audio or at a sound equipment rental house.
Knowledge of on-set microphones and boom operation. Troubleshooting skills with production audio equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 years of experience in on-set production audio or at a rental house conducting audio equipment maintenance and repairs.
The salary range for this position is $82K - $93K. When extending an offer of employment the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position the candidates work experience education/training key skills internal peer equity federal state and local laws contractual stipulations grant funding as well as external market and organizational considerations.
