Job Description
Title: Quicksight BI Developer

Location: 849 International Dr. Linthicum MD 21090. Some teleworking may be permitted based on assignment and team needs.
Position Description: Responsible for developing and operating business intelligence (BI) platforms tools and reports. The individual is responsible for the following tasks:
- Design develop and maintain BI solutions extract transform load (ETL) processes and dashboards
- Gather and analyze requirements from stakeholders to ensure the BI solution meets needs
- Develop data models to support reporting and analytic
- Implement ETL processes to analyze data from various source systems and data formats;
- Create interactive dashboards reports and visualizations
- Collaboration with multiple teams to understand requirements and objectives
- Administer testing and troubleshooting
- Create and update documentation.
Education: This position requires a bachelors or masters degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science statistics mathematics economics or related field. Three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field may be substituted for the Bachelors degree.
General Experience: The proposed candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a BI Developer.
- Strong data visualization skills creating compelling and easy-to-understand dashboards
- Proficiency in SQL is a must
- Excellent communication and training abilities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- In-depth knowledge of data governance and data security best practices
- Proficiency in data exploration and querying is essential
- Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing
- Knowledge of data warehousing and cloud computing is a plus
- AWS QuickSight certification is a strong advantage
Specialized Experience: The candidate should have experience as a BI developer or similar role with a strong understanding of data modeling and ETL processes. The candidate should be proficient in SQL and experience with BI tools/software. They should possess a strong understanding of data warehouse data lakehouse and data mart concepts.
- Key qualifications include strong project management skills leadership abilities effective communication and the capacity to identify and resolve issues while adapting to changing circumstances. Significant experience collaborating with cross-functional teams product owners and stakeholders is essential
- Preferred qualifications include a technical background and experience in data and AI/ML projects. Functional experience with local or government projects in Data Services (MDM/R360/EDMS) Child Support Integrated Eligibility Child Welfare Adult Protective Services Juvenile Justice or Health and Human Services is also preferred
