Position Summary
Supports the classroom certified teacher in curriculum guidelines and works under the direction of the Classroom Teacher with students individually and in groups while maintaining confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist the classroom under the supervision of the teacher as directed to reinforce learning materials and/or skills.
- Communicate with community staff and students to answer questions disseminate or explain information.

Education:
This position requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Experience working in a classroom environment with adults preferred.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of school policies and safety regulations required.
Skills:
- Basic computer skills required
- Good communication skills required.
Abilities:
- Ability to grasp position specific software with minimal training required.
- Ability to be caring understanding and friendly towards students required.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students staff and community required.
- Ability to read and interpret school policies and handbook required.
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job duties including but not limited to understanding and following safety instructions responding appropriately to emergency situations completing documentation and interacting with English-speaking staff students community and supervisors required.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit use hands to finger handle or feel; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds of files materials computer and audio visual equipment etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus especially due to concentration on a computer screen and small numbers.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
