The Non CDL Driver I is a delivery position responsible for driving a company vehicle limited to a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 14900. The position will be assigned stops to deliver foodservice products with a high level of service to customers. Commercial or professional driving experience preferred but not required. Must meet the medical requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT). All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Schedule is generally Monday - Saturday subject to change based on business needs.

Main Ingredients of the Job

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times

  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler pallet jack or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas

  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures

  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable

  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience

  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80 lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required

  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10 per shift) required

What You Bring to the Table

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Valid U.S. drivers license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required. No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations no DUI convictions in the past three years no drivers license suspensions in the past three years. Must be able to pass DOT physical.

  • No commercial or professional driving experience required. One year of multi-stop delivery experience is preferred or six months local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience.

  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations

  • Hand cart delivery experience preferred.

  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation to understand highway traffic signs and signals to respond to official inquiries and to enter information on reports and records.

  • Must have basic math skills (add subtract multiply divide).
    Must pass pre-employment testing (including items such a Background Check)

  • Have knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities.

  • Use safe lifting and loading techniques

  • Great interpersonal/customer service skills.

  • Availability to work on weekends Holidays and overtime in order to service customers

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education specific skills function geographic location and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $24.50 per hour and $28.50 per hour.
