Senior Layout Engineer
We are looking for a senior layout engineer that will support the Vanderlande Airports Project Engineering Department which is responsible for the design specification and commissioning of baggage systems for our customers in Europe the Middle East and Latin America.
As a senior layout engineer you can lead a team of layout engineers you work closely together with the mechanical project engineers to translate a sales design into an engineering design. You are able to think on an abstract conceptual level as well as having the ability to dive into design details. Besides knowledge of the Vanderlande equipment you have a good understanding of the impact of design decisions on price and functionality and you are able to plan the work. Begin with the end in mind. Oversee the total scope of work prepare design submittals list the layout submittals setup the models and tools in such way that it meets the project needs. The layout engineer is responsible that the system design fits in the environment. This requires alignment with the structural design and building services design. Therefore creativity flexibility and teamplay are the key skills in your role.
Your department:
The Project Engineering department is responsible for the worldwide execution of projects in which the different components (mechanical electromechanical and controls) of our material handling systems are implemented. Working under the supervision of a project leader closely working together with the mechanical- electrical and controls engineers the layout engineer is part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers.
Your prole:
To be successful in this role you have at least a MBO degree in a technical area e.g. Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
Create Detailed 3D Models using BIM software such as Revit AutoCAD and Navisworks to develop accurate digital representations of system
Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with customers other contractors subcontractors suppliers project team members and project managers to gather necessary information and ensure design accuracy.
Update and Modify Models: Revise models based on updated plans and specifications.
Generate Construction Documentation: Extract 2D drawings and details from 3D models for construction purposes.
Run Clash Detection: Identify and report conflicts or discrepancies in the models to facilitate coordination meetings
Maintain BIM Standards: Ensure all models comply with project BIM standards and protocols
Assist with Scheduling and Cost Estimation: Utilize BIM software to help with project scheduling cost estimation and material tracking.
Develop BIM Standards: Contribute to the enhancement of BIM standards and best practices within the organization
Proficiency in BIM Software: Strong skills in Revit AutoCAD Navisworks and other BIM tools
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in models and documentation
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of material handling systems. Interfacing with buildings and other MEP systems.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with various stakeholders
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot BIM issues and provide solutions
Graduate in relevant engineering field and possess BIM software certifications.
What we offer
This position offers a competitive salary range of 3.304 to 5.000 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
