Ohio Department of Public Safety Ohio State Highway Patrol Central Install

Report in location: 1583 Alum Creek Drive Columbus Ohio 43209

Work Days and hours would vary between: Monday - Friday 7:00 am 3:30 pm depending on students schedule.

This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students academic status:

Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour

Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

Major/field of study should be in:

Computer Engineering

Electronics Engineering

Electro-Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Telecommunications Engineering

Automotive Technology

*Experience using a digital multi-meter mechanical hand tools and other electronics test equipment is preferred but not required.

Job duties:

Assist with and participate in the build process for installing electronic equipment in enforcement vehicles including installing and uninstalling lights sirens and radio equipment.

Assist with and participate in the installation of vehicle hardware installed in enforcement vehicles including installing specialty seats partitions mounts and storage boxes.

Assist with and participate in equipment and supplies inventory tracking equipment unboxing and assembly of components and cleaning and preparation of used electronic equipment for re-use.

Qualifications:

Employment Requirements(all must be verified upon hire)
To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety an applicant must:

Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.

Be in good standing with the college/university.

Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

Be enrolled in at least one course.

Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
