Special Education Teacher

Christa McAuliffe Charter School is hiring a long-term substitute special education teacher to work with students in both inclusion and pull-out settings. lWe are seeking individuals talented at building relationships with middle-school-age students and who are prepared to support instruction in a classroom with students who have a variety of learning skills and challenges. . RESPONSIBILITIESDeliver specialized middle-school instruction in both inclusion classrooms and pull-out environments including learning centerProvide accommodations and modifications to ensure all students are given access to curriculum and instructionCollaborate regularly with both general educators and the student services teamCommunicate with families regarding service delivery student performance and progress Serve as a case manager for a group of that capacity responsibilities include tracking student data participating in IEP meetings writing / revising IEPs as needed and maintaining communication with or co-lead an advisory crew of about 12 students; facilitate daily check-ins discussions team-building activities social-emotional learning lessons and preparation for student-led conferencesServe as an active member of the McAuliffe Community by attending evening events such as celebrations of learningQUALIFICATIONSMcAuliffe is committed to cultivating a community that embraces diverse backgrounds and perspectives; A diverse team allows us to serve our community better.
