We are seeking an experienced and visionary manager to join our Care Services Leadership team to support a team of specialist youth workers in one of our residential homes in the Tmaki Makaurau region.

The Glenmore Lighthouse is a whare predominantly for rangatahi who identify as female. Our Lighthouses provide unplanned crisis care in times of need such as when rangatahi have nowhere else safe to stay or when they have committed an offence. Our whare supports up to five rangatahi on short term placements with Youth Justice or Care and Protection needs.

We use an evidence-based model called the Teaching Family Model (TFM) to help rangatahi reach their potential and equip them with the skills they need to be successful within the wider community.

About You Mu

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in counselling social work psychology psychotherapy or other related health field with relevant board registration
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and stakeholders
  • Have a full and clean New Zealand drivers licence
  • Experience working with rangatahi who have complex behavioural needs
  • Proven experience in leading managing or supervising a team
  • Have the willingness and ability to uphold the mana of our organisation by embracing tikanga and matauranga Mori as part of best practice.
  • Ability and willingness to work with tangata whenua in a way that upholds our organisational commitments and obligations to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
