Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Safety Advisor Major Projects on a permanent basis on our Health & Safety team. This position requires on-site work at either the Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) or the Co-op Ethanol Complex (CEC) located near Belle Plaine SK. This position is based in Regina SK and has 65% travel within Regina and the surrounding area.

The Safety Advisor Major Projects plays a pivotal role in safeguarding our people and projects. By championing proactive risk management and fostering a safety-first culture this role ensures that every phase of Major Projects is executed with precision and care. From guiding compliance with Saskatchewan OHS regulations to enhancing employee experience through robust safety programs the Safety Advisor Major Projects is instrumental in building a resilient empowered workforcewhere safety isnt just a priority its a shared value.

What youll do:

  • Ensure safety is embedded in project planning engineering deliverables and contractor selection while supporting lifecycle risk reduction.

  • Act as the senior safety authority overseeing contractor HSE programs monitoring high-risk activities and promoting a strong safety culture.

  • Guide support and assess incident investigations root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Create and continuously improve HSE plans manuals and emergency response procedures based on audits feedback and regulatory changes.

  • Provide ongoing safety guidance lead communications and training participate in OHS committees and serve as liaison during emergency response.

Who youll work with:

You will work closely with construction/project managers contractors and safety personnel at CRC and CEC and will report into the Director Health & Safety. You will provide advice and guidance and in some instances provide directions to all employees management as well as all contractors regarding Safety issues. This team strives to cultivate a culture of safety first open communication cross-functional collaboration continuous learning and adaptability.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Health Safety Security & Environment (HSSE) & Sustainability and:

  • Have 6-9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience in industrial and construction health and safety or in a related industry.

  • Have a university degree or a 2-year Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety through an accredited college with extensive knowledge/experience in the construction and engineering field (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).

  • Have a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation and have the ability to challenge for a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation within 3 years.
