Position Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals conducting nuclear medicine imaging procedures and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the diagnostic process. This role plays a critical part in assisting physicians with diagnosis and treatment planning by delivering high-quality imaging results.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and physician orders.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following established safety guidelines.
- Operate gamma cameras SPECT PET and other nuclear imaging equipment.
- Ensure proper radiation safety measures are observed for patients staff and self.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures.
- Assist in quality assurance and equipment calibration activities.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Participate in rotating weekend and on-call schedules as required.
Qualifications: Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) NMTCB or
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine
- State Registered Radiologic Technician Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS)-Must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Must be obtained within 30 days of hire
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Sciences (Required)
