Job Description

Manager Notes:

  • This position is onsite Boston: will be prioritizing local candidates if relocating - please provide moving plan
  • MUST include Portfolios - illustrates how they work/their process shows work that lines up with youth culture represents graphic design communications and environment.
  • Project support for Converse Brand Experiences Global - Global Influencer Marketing. The Brand Experience Graphic Designer will design concepts inspired by Youth Culture for product launches build environmental visual centers and bring them to life in a 3D space. This includes: designing lighting in certain spaces concepting a space creating presentations of materials in keynote and providing briefs to an architect to build out the conceptual space.
  • Youth Culture: mindset for defining culture trend style music a curiosity for what is happening now and is new. Youth culture brands - Sonos apple google supreme etc
  • Must Haves:
    • 5 yoe in elevating brand experience graphic design communications design environmental and spatial design. Has worked with designing the soul of the brand within several environments
    • Adobe suite sketchup or rhino to bring sketches to life keynote
    • Experience with Youth Culture or a passion in art/music/sport/style
  • Nice to Haves:
    • BFA in design graphic design industrial design communication or equivalent experience
    • Figma
    • Highly collaborative can take and provide constructive feedback while having a positive attitude

The Global Brand Experience team exists to bring the heart and soul of the brand to life across all touch-points. We are responsible for the look feel and perception that drives our unique brand distinction across all environments and experiences.

The nature of the work is focused on the appearance of communications and collateral materials. Graphic and Conceptual Design with general direction from Design management uses advanced design skills to create original graphic design brand concepts and experiences that reflect the Soul of the Brand. Assists with research ideation concept development and branding. Leads projects and works independently to complete individual projects. These projects include but are not limited to the development of print packaging 3-D retail displays environmental design event signage branding systems imagery video brand experiences/environments collateral materials and internal presentations. Effectively uses professional software to deliver final designs including proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Figma Keynote SketchUp Rhino etc.

Project Management - works with functional teams from initial concept development to final production and distribution. Manages individual projects beginning with internal briefing managing timelines and scheduling work-back schedules budget management supplier coordination reviewing specs recommending production alternatives and maintaining quality production standards. Manages both individual projects as well as groups of projects to stay within stated budgets. Works with Ops partners to estimate all aspects of project development. Offer productional alternatives to provide the best product within the defined budget. Is capable of acting as the liaison between internal and external cross-functional management teams. Communicates project details design requirements scheduling needs and material specifications.

What you will work on:

  • Help drive the Center of Excellence for Brand Experience and Brand Environments focused on translating Brand Strategy to Environments and Experiences.
  • Brand Experience and Retail guidelines development to include materials color space design furniture fixture and design direction as well as how brand stories photography and tone of voice come to life in our environments and experiences.
  • Retail concepts and product launches.
  • Support a design process of clear ideation focusing on exploration of color materiality texture spacing proportion scale and use of the environment.
  • Ensure project goals and priorities align with Global Brand (Brand Experience) and business strategies.
  • Constantly seek new and innovative ways to tell stories through graphics styling lighting sculpture photography video animation and more.
  • Develop presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts to all levels of leadership and partners.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional project teams and the Global Brand Org.
  • Foster innovative thinking collaboration and teamwork.
  • Understand design processes to ensure results timelines and budgets are met.

What you will bring:

  • A passion for the Artist Athlete Sport and Culture.
  • Demonstrated strength in operating in a design studio and delivering progressively complex projects of varying scales budgets and timelines.
  • Adept at applying and performing design skills including concepting ideation drawing/sketching rendering typography color theory texture spatial design in scale visual presentation development and space planning layouts.
  • Strong knowledge of current trends in color graphic design art photography architecture and experience design - and their application to the sport footwear and apparel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of production design fabrication materiality and emerging manufacturing trends.
  • Strategic thinking and adept at connecting the dots across multiple approaches and outputs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity and create compelling solutions when the way forward is not always clear.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present new concepts and designs to small and large groups including presenting to internal creative leadership and external partners.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities demands and changes.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with a highly developed ability to cultivate relationships in an open positive and inclusive environment. Brings positivity and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work.
  • Demonstrated expertise using computer design applications including SketchUp Figma Keynote Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to design and render environments. Experience with motion graphics and video-editing is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • 5 Years of progressive technically sophisticated design experience in experiential design brand design or architectural design and a demonstrated ability to apply these skills in ways that elevate brand excellence.
  • Bachelors/masters degree in communication design graphic design architecture industrial design environmental design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
