Role : Onsite Telecommunications Technician
Location: Louisville KY(Onsite)
Type: Contract
- The Telecommunications Technician will be responsible for establishing data networks by installing network equipment and cables creating copper and fiber data paths as well as maintaining customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns. This candidate must have understanding of technology in use at Client and a focus on proper change management for all deployments. The candidate will eventually evolve into supporting World port technologies and other Louisville Kentucky Air Operation facilities.
- Specific telecom project and implementation efforts could include Saturday and Sunday deployments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of LAN technologies including Ethernet and fiber optic cabling IDF/MDF physical characteristics Network drawings and concepts
- Good understanding of wired and wireless communication systems networks and protocols including experience in medium and large implementation projects
- Installing power cables and telecom equipment
- Good understanding of the importance of change management and its associated control process working with SMC
- Helpdesk and related experience with Cisco and/or HP Aruba switch configuration and troubleshooting
- Wireshark and packet capture analysis experience a plus
- Basic competence with Microsoft business applications (Teams Word Excel Outlook Visio Power Point)
- Must be punctual organized and self-motivated with the ability to quickly and easily adapt to change
- Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication
- Must be able to meet qualifications for full access to Airpark property/facilities
- Able to meet physical requirements of the job such as working on ladders racking heavy equipment running cables
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology related fields and/or equivalent experience
- CompTIA Network CCNA or equivalent experience preferred
