Scope of work

Responsible for staffing allocation functions for hospital-based nursing departments including flex and float pools. Performs timekeeping duties as directed.

  • Analyzes shift-by-shift staffing variances by unit and re-allocates or cancels staff following standard procedures.

  • Assigns float and flex pool team members to units with staffing deficits and communicates assignments to team members following standard procedures.

  • Utilizes staffing and scheduling software program(s) to perform scheduling timekeeping and payroll duties as directed by leadership.

  • Attends meetings compiles data performs staffing recruitment tasks and assists leadership as directed.

  • Communicates effectively and professionally with co-workers and team members from other departments. Helps others as needed to contribute to the overall success of the department and Corewell Health.

  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Hight School Diploma or equivalent Required

  • 2 years of relevant experience office word processing data entry computer applications office coordination supervision secretarial Administrative Assistant health care customer service medical office setting Required

  • Associates degree in related field Preferred
