Hours of Work: 37 hours per week.
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Responsibilities
As a Production Engineer (Assembly) you will:
- Utilize CAD software to design tooling for assembly welding and pressure testing.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with visual aids to ensure consistency and quality.
- Manage ERP/MRP data including part numbers Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routes.
- Design and validate new production lines to optimize efficiency and output.
- Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement lean manufacturing tools such as Kanban 5S and SMED to streamline operations.
- Prepare and justify CAPEX proposals for new equipment and technologies.
- Provide technical support to production teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Analyze product costs and address quality issues including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and change requests.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production metrics identify bottlenecks and drive productivity improvements.
- Contribute to Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects and other engineering solutions.
Qualifications
To excel in this role you should possess:
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
- Strong understanding of modern manufacturing methods and principles.
- Proficiency in CAD 3D design for jigs and fixtures.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM) SMED Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Kaizen and 5S.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Lean Manufacturing and VAVE principles.
- Excellent communication project management and team collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint Outlook Word Project and Excel.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day will involve:
- Designing and refining tooling and fixtures to enhance production processes.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement SOPs.
- Analyzing production data to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Leading team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Providing hands-on support to production teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Preparing reports and presentations to communicate progress and results to stakeholders.
