Job Duties
Plans and conducts testing for variety of audits across all VDH activities. Characteristic duties include preparing audit reports on findings making recommendations to management and following up to ensure action plans are implemented. Works under the supervision of another audit staff member to evaluate agency processes compliance with agency policies and procedures best practices and sound internal controls. The Staff Auditor will serve as a team member assisting the senior auditor in most instances but may serve as auditor-in-charge of routine audits leading other auditors assigned to a less complex audit. The position may assist with or conduct special investigations or special projects. The primary products from this position are comprehensive workpapers in support of the report prepared by senior auditors.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge learning and interpreting government and business processes
Experience researching and interpreting applicable federal state and local government laws regulations and statutes
Experience assisting with process improvement project/tasks
Experience identifying and documenting processes
Knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel
Additional Considerations
Auditing experience
Demonstrated progression towards obtaining CGAP CPA CIA CISA or other equivalent professional certification is desirable
