Job Summary
Scientific Officer in Chronic Metabolic Diseases in the Department of Medicine School of Clinical Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology(Ref.: 533091)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily laboratory operations ensuring efficient workflows and compliance with safety and institutional regulations
- Support research on chronic metabolic diseases such as diabetes obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) including experimental design data analysis and maintenance of specialized equipment
- Contribute to grant applications scientific publications and foster collaborations with academic and industry partners
- Lead business development initiatives including identifying funding opportunities facilitating technology transfer and establishing partnerships to translate research findings into commercial or clinical applications
- A 5.5-day workweek is required.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. degree in Biology Molecular Biology Immunology Biochemistry or a related discipline
- Exceptional organizational technical and communication skills with the ability to integrate scientific expertise and strategic thinking in a dynamic research environment
- A strong sense of responsibility with the ability to work independently collaboratively and under pressure within a multidisciplinary team

What We Offer
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2- to 3-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as benefits include annual leave medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
