Hybrid International Buyer / Import Purchasing Agent (3 yrs exp. req.) Description

Our client is seeking an International Buyer to join their team at one of their U.S. locations (near Kansas City MO or in Reading PA). In this role you will be responsible for managing the flow and cost of imported products to replenish inventory across multiple sites. Using data-driven analysis and calculated decision-making you will work to optimize inventory profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of international buying or import purchasing experience with a solid understanding of international freight and logistics in supply chain. To be successful you must be an independent forward-thinking professional with strong negotiation skills when working with international suppliers. Hybrid International Buyer / Import Purchasing Agent (3 yrs exp. req.) Responsibilities

Review requisitions and determine optimal purchasing levels for assigned products and suppliers
Negotiate contracts pricing availability and delivery schedules with international suppliers
Determine procurement method and prepare purchase orders or bid requests
Coordinate container shipments and manage relationships with 3PL partners
Control costs and maintain company margin requirements
Research evaluate and recommend new supplier options
Manage rebate programs and ensure compliance with agreements
Determine source and take corrective action to resolve quality issues
Support engineering and sales teams with overseas sourcing needs
Monitor and improve supplier performance on inventory turns and fill rates
Reduce and manage obsolete inventory across the organization.

Hybrid International Buyer / Import Purchasing Agent (3 yrs exp. req.) Qualifications

3 years of purchasing imported goods/products experience required
Understanding of international freight and logistics in supply chain required
Buying experience in high volume fast paced environment required
Ability to handle negotiations with international suppliers required
Proficient with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables formulas) required
