Job Description

Job Summary:
The VP Brokerage will be responsible for leading and growing the freight brokerage division within the organization. This executive role will focus on strategic planning operational excellence business development carrier relationships and ensuring the highest levels of service and profitability. The VP will drive revenue growth optimize cost structures and enhance customer satisfaction by developing and executing best-in-class logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the brokerage division increase market share and drive profitability.
  • Lead mentor and manage a high-performing team of brokerage professionals including sales carrier relations and operations personnel.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with carriers shippers and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day brokerage operations ensuring efficiency compliance and high service standards.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand service offerings.
  • Monitor market trends industry developments and competitor activity to stay ahead of the market.
  • Optimize pricing strategies and cost management to ensure competitive advantage and profitability.
  • Implement and leverage technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align brokerage operations with overall company goals and objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Management Logistics or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in freight brokerage logistics or transportation with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of growing and leading a successful freight brokerage division.
  • Strong leadership negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Deep understanding of freight brokerage operations market trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and other logistics technology platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
