As an Accessibility Lead and Manager on the team you will:- Drive execution governance and continuous improvement across a focus area woking with cross-functional teams.- Understand the landscape of projects in the focus area by working and building relationships with key stakeholders in cross-functional teams.- Lead and mentor a team of accessibility subject matter experts providing technical oversight career development and workload prioritization.- Support your direct reports in their technical reviews of designs code and testing methodologies stepping in for hands-on review when needed.- Deliver regular progress updates to senior leadership translating technical accessibility work into business impact and strategic recommendations.- Partner with product managers and engineering leads to integrate accessibility requirements into roadmaps and planning processes and advocate for accessibility resources and priorities in cross-functional discussions.- Lead and contribute to internal accessibility initiatives including training program development awareness events technical documentation and cross-functional education that builds organizational capability.
- Demonstrable experience in hiring mentoring and managing the performance of staff.
- Strong experience in front-end engineering or designing and developing applications in Web iOS or macOS.
- Understanding of WCAG 2.x guidelines and Apple Human Interface Guidelines.
- Knowledge of accessibility features built into Apple products and other assistive technologies.
- Ability to communicate and influence senior executives and stakeholders using excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to make hard calls when dealing with complexity conflicting priorities and aggressive schedules.
- A passion for new technologies and continuous learning.
- Proficiency in web application development using web technologies including front-end frameworks and accessible implementations.
- Result-oriented and demonstrates the high degree of ownership and accountability.
- Promotes a team environment that values supports and encourages differences.
