Head Chef Care Home Setting 16 per hour (33280) 40 Hours per week alternate weekends

Our client is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen team within a luxury residential care home for older adults.


Set in a beautifully converted country house this is a rewarding opportunity to showcase culinary expertise while making a meaningful difference every day.

As Head Chef you will take responsibility for the planning preparation and delivery of nutritious well-balanced meals tailored to residents needs. With a focus on fresh ingredients dietary requirements and high standards of food safety this role combines creativity with purpose in a supportive and caring environment.

What Were Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or senior chef ideally within a care home or healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of allergies specialist diets and nutrition in older adults
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for food and improving quality of life through mealtimes
  • Up-to-date food hygiene and safety certifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals
  • Plan and prepare menus that meet a variety of dietary needs including allergies medical conditions and cultural preferences
  • Ensure meals are nutritious well-presented and aligned with residents hydration and nutrition needs
  • Manage stock ordering and budgets effectively
  • Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards
  • Work closely with care and nursing teams to support residents wellbeing
