Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physicians Assistant) specializing in Critical this role you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care in a critical care setting. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing and treating patients with acute and life-threatening conditions making a significant impact on their recovery and well-being. You will be involved in a variety of critical care projects ensuring the delivery of top-notch healthcare services.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Monitor and manage critically ill patients in the intensive care unit.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and post-discharge care.
  • Assist in emergency procedures and resuscitation efforts as needed.
  • Document patient care accurately and maintain medical records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physicians Assistant (PA) license.
  • Certification in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent specialization.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing critical care patients.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS) protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Schedule: 7a-7p 4 consecutive shifts preferred

No call required

Daily Census: 20 patients

30-bed ICU

Will assist with procedures

Support Staff: Hospitalist

EMR: Meditech

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
