Job Summary

Physical therapy assistants help take care of patients. They work with physical therapists (PT) to provide treatments and make changes when needed. PTAs help people of all ages from babies to older adults.

Their tasks include:

- Helping patients stretch and exercise specific muscles
- Following instructions from the physical therapist
- Working closely with the therapist to help patients
- Talking with families to find the best exercises to do at home
- Keeping the therapy area clean and organized
- Assisting patients in moving from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy areas
- Doing office work like scheduling appointments and organizing paperwork
- Teaching patients balance exercises

**Requirements:**

- 1 year of experience as a PTA - REQUIRED
- Experience in long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation - REQUIRED
- PTA license
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Must have a state license for Missouri (Compact Allowed)
