Youll gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of hotel operations and hospitality from a corporate view. Youll build skills to help prepare you to develop a career path.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intern will work with Marriotts Area Operations Singapore & Maldives team and based in the Singapore office. The intern will assist in projects and supporting initiatives related to hotel operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Market research on new/recent projects
- Participate in hotel and market visits
- Take ownership of operational projects such as guest satisfaction pre-openings
- Create and format presentation decks using PowerPoint
- Perform basic analysis using Excel and other relevant analytical tools
- Coordinate data / information collection with different teams
- Manage and respond to e-mails in an effective organized and professional way
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and follow company policies and procedures
- Assist supervisor in facilitating appointments
- Assist team members other than your direct supervisor as needed
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Display strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in handling data
- Be initiative proactive creative and have the ability to think outside the box
- Be responsible well-organized and systematic in dealing with assignments
- Be flexible and adaptable to change and have awareness on different cultures in the region
- Organizing skill for associate workshops/events capability to co-ordinate with different departments and exchange with hotels operations team.
- Have a good command of English spoken and written
- Pro activeness and independence.
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills - able to work in a team
- Tech savvy - proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Word Excel Tableau PowerPoint and Outlook
QUALIFICATION STANDARD
- Education:
- Undergraduate in Hospitality Management
- Requirements
- Singaporean Singapore Permanent Resident Holder or valid student pass / work holiday pass
- Eligible for undergraduate in a Singapore registered university program / uundergraduate or graduate of a university in Singapore Australia France Germany Hong Kong Japan New Zealand Switzerland United Kingdom or United States.
- Prepared to commit to a six months internship
- Grooming:
- All employees must maintain a neat clean and well-groomed appearance per Marriott standards.
