Position Summary The Warehouse Specialist Downcomer Assembler is a dual capacity role spending 6070% of their time assembling structural downcomers for marine and industrial applications. The remainder of their time will be spent supporting our Programs Division with contract-driven work tied to Newport News Shipbuilding including reading and executing on contract requirements and assisting with general warehouse responsibilities. This role is M-F 8am - 5pm. - Warehouse Technicians with Cross-Training Those whove worked in dynamic warehouse environments where they were responsible for not only material handling but also kitting assembling or supporting project-based workflows.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Downcomer Assembly (6070%) - Assemble structural downcomers from straight iron pieces using jigs drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret orders and basic drawings.
- Accurately align and secure pieces to meet customer and quality requirements.
- Operate shop equipment safely and perform quality checks.
Programs Division Support - Read understand and act on project and contract documentation related to HII/Newport News Shipbuilding work.
- Complete assigned tasks per contractual requirements and internal procedures.
- Assist with inventory tracking documentation and project coordination related to shipbuilding support.
Warehouse Operations - Support receiving staging and shipping of materials as needed.
- Assist with inventory control and stocking.
- Maintain clean organized and safe workspaces.
- Cross-train on other warehouse functions and fill in where needed.
- Make deliveries as needed.

Experience: - Previous fabrication construction or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
- Experience or familiarity with contract work (especially in a defense/military or industrial setting).
- Forklift or reach truck experience.
Preferred: - Experience supporting military or shipbuilding supply chains.
- Prior roles in fabrication metalwork or pipe/cable/conduit routing.
- Cross-functional warehouse experience in regulated industries.
Licenses/Certification: - Valid Drivers license with a clean record.
