At South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency & Specialty (SAVES) we provide 24/7 emergency urgent and specialty care for dogs and cats in Fayetteville and surrounding communities. Since opening our state-of-the-art facility in 2016 weve grown into a trusted referral center partnering with family veterinarians to deliver advanced diagnostics surgery and compassionate ICU care. As a Veterinary Tech/Assistant youll play a critical role in supporting our doctors and ensuring pets receive exceptional care from check-in to discharge. Youll provide skilled nursing support patient monitoring and technical expertise while delivering compassionate service to both pets and their families.

Role Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians with patient exams diagnostics procedures and surgeries.
• Perform laboratory tests radiographs and other diagnostics as directed.
• Administer medications treatments and fluid therapy according to protocols.
• Monitor anesthesia and surgical recovery ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collect and record patient medical histories vitals and progress notes in electronic records.
• Educate and support clients on treatment plans preventive care and at-home instructions.
• Use proper animal restraint techniques and maintain safe handling practices.
• Maintain a clean organized and sterile treatment exam and surgery environment.
• Support emergency and critical care patients with triage monitoring and interventions.
• Collaborate with doctors technicians and CSRs to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care.

Experience & Skills Requirements: AB1

• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred.
• 12 years of clinical experience; ER/specialty experience a plus.
• Strong technical skills in anesthesia patient monitoring and nursing care.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide compassionate client education.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
• Physical ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted and remain on feet for extended periods.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at$19 -$25/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills qualifications experience and location.AB2
