Job Summary

The Assistant Manager Charge-Off & Recovery Strategy leads a team of administrative assistants and oversees the full charge-off lifecycle using AI-powered decision engines integrated accounting systems and predictive analytics. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards employee development and drives innovation in recovery strategies. This Assistant Manager also plays a key role in cross-functional collaboration vendor coordination and continuous improvement.

To be effective an individual must be able to perform each of the following job duties successfully:

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Develop team members through coaching the AAA (Assess Advise Assist) model and individual development plans.

  • Conduct quarterly check ins set goals manage disciplinary actions and recognize team achievements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor performance contract adherence and service quality.

  • Provide real-time support for escalated issues and problem accounts modeling effective resolution strategies.

Charge-Off & Recovery Strategy

  • Complete monthly charge processing using automated workflows and integrated accounting platforms.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of charge-offs in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

  • Analyze charge-off trends and recommend strategies to reduce delinquency and improve recovery outcomes.

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain and update KPI dashboards and spreadsheets tracking team performance and recovery metrics.

  • Conduct monthly audits of third-party agency collection efforts and address coaching opportunities.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Grant overrides and support branches and corporate departments with escalated servicing needs.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of recovery strategies and compliance protocols.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES

Experience

  • 3 years of experience in loan servicing or collections.

  • Proficient in collections platforms and accounting systems.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelors degree in business finance or related field preferred.

Managerial Responsibility

Has leadership responsibilities that are direct or through other team leaders typically with a subordinate group of 5 structural and personnel needs and assigns work to meet those coordinates and reviews the work of assigned staff. Determines goals to be reached and leads the achievement of goals. Recommends candidates for employment conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for staff and applies company policy.

Computer/Office Equipment Skills

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook Word PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Experience with analytical and reporting software and loan origination systems.

  • Knowledge of credit bureau systems and financial calculators.

Language Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas methodology results and recommendations verbally in writing and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations.

  • Demonstrated ability to document outcomes and present information in a manner appropriate for key stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and motivate teams.

  • Analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
