Job Summary
The Senior Animal Technician will provide advanced animal husbandry and veterinarian support for the humane care and treatment of all research animals in the central UT Arlington Animal Care Facility and remote satellite facilities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Perform animal husbandry and janitorial duties in the animal facility as assigned. Assist veterinarian and facility manager in evaluating and maintain the health of animals and relevant health records. Provide assistance in surgical and diagnostic procedures on animals. Assist facility manager in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment and in preparation of reports and cost analysis. Complete additional duties as assigned by the facility manager.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED . Five (5) years of experience in the care of animals in a laboratory facility or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a Laboratory Animal Technologist by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday; 6:00am 2:30pm Occasional weekend and holidays as needed.
