Job Summary
Position:PRN RN Flagstaff AZ
Schedule
12-hour shifts 6:00 pm 6:30 am
PRN (as needed)
Must work at least 3 shifts per month
40 hours per week isnotguaranteed
Job Responsibilities
Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered by the physician and within scope of license
(medications may include oral enteral parenteral suppository etc.; treatments may include wound care postural drainage tracheostomy care gastrostomy/jejunostomy care and catheter care)Observe and report the effectiveness of medications and treatments
Ensure adequate supplies and medications are available
Participate in shift reports (receiving and giving)
Communicate with residents families and staff to ensure appropriate care
Complete initial admission assessments and assist with care planning (MDS assessments quarterly reviews)
Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation
Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
Attend and contribute to staff meetings
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practice
Understanding of the aging process and team nursing procedures
Familiarity with treatment planning pharmacology and state/federal nursing regulations
Skills in observation documentation and patient communication
Ability to:
Abide by nursing regulations
Assess and respond to medical emergencies
Evaluate and make independent decisions on patient care
Communicate professionally with patients families and staff
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
