Were looking for a Compliance Officerto join our Dunedin-based team and help deliver effective regulatory management across the commercial transport this role youll monitor and assess compliance of transport service licence holders and drivers of heavy vehicles and passenger services contributing to safer roads and communities.

Key responsibilities include:
Conducting audits and assessments of commercial transport operators
Producing robust reports and recommendations
Educating operators to support voluntary compliance
Taking regulatory action when necessary
Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders - from board members to rural drivers

We are seeking to appoint at a salary between $78810 - $96323.70 commensurate with skills and experience.

Youre someone who values teamwork is adaptable and communicates effectively with people from all walks of life. You bring common sense curiosity and a willingness to learn. Regulatory experience is helpful - but not essential. What matters most is your ability to work collaboratively think critically and contribute positively to our team culture.
Youll bring:
Experience in systems-based thinking and analysis
Experience in a regulatory compliance and/or enforcement environment
Detailed understanding and experience of regulatory principles and practices
Experience in assessment (audit) planning delivery and reporting
Strong investigative risk assurance or audit experience
The ability to build relationships and appreciate different points of view
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in a regulatory compliance role would be an advantage
New Zealand Certificate in Regulatory Compliance (Core Knowledge) or equivalent desirable
You will demonstrate knowledge of or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Mori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Mori. You will also have knowledge of or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public service.
