Network Operations is seeking a Senior Specialist Bus Service Delivery position to support the overall daily operation of the Metrolinx bus service. This position will be focused on supporting train service delivery integrated operations and incident in addition to ensuring a systematic procedure and process driven approach in delivery of service within the Network Operations Centre. This position is responsible for facilitating continuous improvement initiatives in support of the rail and integrated operation functions through the design and development of effective and efficient quality assurance training programs and project management.
This is a 24/7 operation and may include working variable shifts/hours weekends and rotating off-days.
What will I be doing
- Coordinate and support critical transit operations to ensure the safe reliable and efficient movement of bus services. This includes proactive planning scheduling and resource management to minimize service disruptions and delays.
- Lead and implement service adjustments in response to real-time conditions including traffic incidents weather impacts and special events ensuring timely and effective delivery of transit services.
- Maintain operational awareness of fleet status transit control systems and service protocols. Oversee continuous improvement initiatives to meet operational goals and ensure timely completion of key deliverables.
- Communicate and collaborate with field personnel including drivers maintenance teams and supervisors to facilitate scheduled work and minimize service impacts. Act as a liaison with internal departments and external partners during service recovery and emergency situations to provide accurate and timely updates.
- Efficiently triage and manage emergency situations with the Incident Control team coordinating response efforts and communicating procedures across departments to support incident resolution and maintain service continuity.
- Uphold a strong commitment to safety and compliance reporting any safety concerns or security breaches to appropriate authorities and ensuring adherence to operational standards.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of control center policies and procedures identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies and supporting the implementation of process improvements in collaboration with leadership.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- In-depth knowledge of bus operations or control centre operations is an asset.
- Completion of a high school diploma or a combination of education training and experience considered equivalent.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Organizational and collaboration skill to manage multiple and changing functional and service priorities.
- Analytical problem solving critical thinking and decision-making skills to assess and respond quickly to evolvingemergencysituations.
- Proficiency in software applications including MS Office (e.g. Teams Word Excel).
- A minimum of five years of progressive experience working in an operational control center or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills to build cooperative working relationships with external stakeholders.
