The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Population Health Data Analyst. The selected competitive candidate will provide exceptional delivery of services to the Quality and Health Population Division.
Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
The Population Health Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying collecting analyzing and maintaining quality and population health data from managed care organizations (MCOs) to evaluate issues that support prospective business decisions. This role will also assist with coordinating projects for the agency focusing on population disparities; including maternal health behavioral health foster care health equity and social determinants of health. This position is responsible for developing documentation reports and presentations for all levels of external and internal leadership. The incumbent will assist with dashboard and report development trend analysis completion develop and present complex analytics clearly and concisely for consumption by internal and external stakeholders. The Population Health Data Analyst will maintain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Core Set measures.

Minimum Qualifications
Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:
Knowledge or experience with HEDIS and CMS Core Set Measures.
Knowledge or experience with National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Accreditation Standards and CMS Federal Rule.
Knowledge and experience to conduct research on operations systems and reporting issues that affect the Population Health Unit and any organization quality initiatives.
Knowledge or experience with internal quality initiatives to produce reports as needed for internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge or experience to utilize personal computers for: creating reports spreadsheets and presentations responding to emails and extracting data from various databases.
Knowledge or experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws/regulations.
Knowledge or experience meeting deadlines.
Knowledge or experience with internal/external stakeholders.
Additional Considerations
Competitive candidates should meet these additional considerations:
Knowledge or experience with Quality Improvement.
Knowledge or experience utilizing Enterprise Data Warehouse System (EDWS) SQL and/or Tableau.
