JOB SUMMARY & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The purpose of this position is to provide miscellaneous maintenance and repair activities at transmission substation telecommunication and generation sites and facilities and to provide assistance to PowerSouth maintenance and construction crews. The incumbent must possess a valid drivers license. The incumbent must be capable of performing laborious duties operating motorized vehicles and equipment and providing assistance to other substation and transmission personnel. Must be able to obtain CDL within eighteen (18) months (must be 21 to obtain CDL).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs and assists others with performing maintenance construction and repair of transmission substation telecommunication and generation equipment and facilities.
• Operates heavy equipment such as tractors backhoes and front-end loaders in making repairs to transmission substation telecommunication and generation facilities including being able to transport equipment to the job site.
• Performs groundskeeping maintenance and repair duties for transmission substation telecommunication and generation facilities.
• Performs miscellaneous maintenance and repairs for transmission substation telecommunication and generation facilities such as fencing culverts conduits control buildings and other facility infrastructure. Performs preparation and painting of transmission substation telecommunications and generation facility equipment structures and apparatus.
