Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing projects from initiation to completion ensuring delivery within scope budget and timelines while maintaining high standards of safety quality and compliance. This role requires strong coordination across cross-functional teams contractors and stakeholders. The Project Manager drives project planning execution financial tracking and risk management while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Define project scope objectives deliverables and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans schedules budgets and communication frameworks.
- Lead cross-functional teams third-party contractors and vendors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Oversee permitting inspections documentation and compliance requirements when applicable.
- Track progress against milestones manage project risks and implement mitigation or contingency plans.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project activities updates and issue resolution.
- Facilitate contractor and stakeholder meetings documenting action items and ensuring follow-through.
- Communicate expectations and project updates clearly effectively and in a timely manner to leadership and teams.
- Collaborate with internal support to ensure alignment with standards and practices
- Ensure all project work adheres to organizational standards compliance requirements and industry best practices.
- Support the development and implementation of Health & Safety plans for on-site projects.
- Monitor contractor performance and adherence to design specifications construction standards and IT governance/security protocols.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and provide lessons-learned reports.
- Request and evaluate vendor quotes for equipment and services.
- Support CAPEX/OPEX procurement processes in line with project requirements.
- Prepare budget reports and participate in financial reviews with senior leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of project documents drawings and updates.
- Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for newly implemented systems or equipment.
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency reduce costs and support organizational growth.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to ensure smooth and successful execution of projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Project Management Engineering Information Technology Business Administration or related field.
- 37 years of project management experience in greenhouse build construction or manufacturing operational projects.
- PMP PRINCE2 or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile Waterfall) and software tools (e.g. MS Project Asana Jira Excel).
- Proven experience managing budgets timelines and cross-functional project teams.
- Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical problem-solver with the ability to anticipate risks and resolve issues quickly.
- Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are an asset).
Work Environment:
- Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility is required.
- Role requires the ability to listen and speak to other employees.
- Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers and filing cabinets. Specific vision capabilities required; the employee is to work in front of a computer sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods is required.
- This job may operate in a hot high humidity environment where temperature average 90 degrees Fahrenheit but may increase to approximately 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summertime. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation
- This job may operate in a refrigerated warehouse where temperatures range from 45-55F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation
- The position may involve needing to lift to 30 pounds occasionally up to 50-pounds (e.g. filing boxes).
