The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate results-driven sales professional to join our high-performing Sales team as either:
- Associate Director of Sales (for candidates with senior leadership/portfolio experience) or
- Senior Business Development Manager (for candidates ready to step up and take ownership of a portfolio).
This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth across key segments representing one of Stamford Sydneys flagship airport hotels.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a defined sales portfolio across Corporate C&E MICE and leisure segments with accountability for delivering revenue and room night targets.
- Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities developing strong pipelines and increasing market share.
- Build and maintain strategic client relationships ensuring repeat business long-term contracts and positive client partnerships.
- Lead client negotiations and RFP processes securing profitable outcomes aligned with hotel objectives.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts budgets and reports leveraging insights to shape tactical and strategic activity.
- Represent Stamford at a senior level at trade shows conferences client events and industry networking opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Events Revenue Reservations and Front Office to deliver seamless guest experiences.
- Support the National GM of Sales in mentoring and guiding junior team members contributing to a proactive high-performance sales culture.
- Maintain CRM discipline (Salesforce/Delphi/Opera) ensuring client activity opportunities and revenue performance are accurately tracked.
For Associate Director of Sales appointments additional responsibility includes supporting the National GM of Sales in strategic planning market segmentation strategy and leading key accounts at a senior stakeholder level.
About You
You are a confident and commercially astute sales professional who thrives in a competitive market and understands what it takes to drive results. You bring:
- A proven track record of success in hotel hospitality travel or events sales with senior portfolio ownership (minimum 35 years; more for Associate Director level).
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data identify trends and translate insights into profitable sales strategies.
- Demonstrated strength in client acquisition retention and growth with advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
- Exceptional presentation communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the credibility to operate confidently at senior client levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to CRM/sales systems such as Salesforce Delphi or Opera.
- The resilience and discipline to manage competing priorities consistently deliver against revenue targets and maintain focus under pressure.
- A tertiary qualification in Business Sales Marketing or a related field (preferred).
- A current NSW Drivers Licence and flexibility to travel as required.
- Above all a commercially focused solutions-driven approach with the ability to influence negotiate and close business.
