Primary Purpose:Support the districts mission by providing instructional coaching professional learning and program support for early childhood classrooms (PK2). Work with teachers and campus leaders to strengthen curriculum implement effective instructional strategies analyze data to improve student learning and promote early readiness aligned with the districts vision of data to action.
In this grant funded position the specialist will also be responsible for assisting in grant implementation ensuring expenditures align with allowable uses and that all activities comply with programmatic and fiscal guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated organized reliable adaptable.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently as well as on a team.
Education/ Certification:
- Bachelors degree from accredited university
- Masters degree preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of balanced literacy numeracy and readiness instructional practices
- Ability to provide instructional coaching and professional learning to adult learners
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform instruction
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Minimum three years of teaching experience preferably in PreK2
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- In this grant-funded position the specialist will spend approximately 20% of their time administering the SAF grant. Responsibilities include assisting in grant implementation ensuring expenditures align with allowable uses and verifying that all activities comply with programmatic and fiscal guidelines. An additional 20% of their time will be dedicated to district-level initiatives in collaboration with the district office while 60% of their time will be focused on supporting the assigned campus.
- Supports the implementation of early childhood curriculum and instructional initiatives in alignment with district goals.
- Provides job-embedded coaching and models research-based instructional strategies to strengthen literacy numeracy and readiness skills.
- Facilitates professional learning opportunities for teachers and campus staff including workshops PLCs and co-teaching experiences.
- Assists in the collection organization and interpretation of student achievement and growth data to inform instruction and intervention.
- Collaborates with coordinators specialists and campus leaders to align curriculum and instructional practices across PK2.
- Guides teachers in analyzing student work and assessment data to adjust instruction and improve outcomes.
- Maintains accurate documentation and shares feedback on curriculum implementation and instructional effectiveness.
- Provides resources instructional materials and strategies that support differentiated instruction for diverse learners.
- Facilitates communication with families and community partners to promote awareness of early learning and readiness goals.
- Engages in continuous professional growth to remain current with best practices in early childhood education.
Working Conditions:

- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Frequent districtwide and statewide travel
- Occasional prolonged or irregular hours
- Prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions
This position is funded by School Action Fund (SAF) Grant funds. Continuation of this position is reviewed annually and is contingent upon funding and program needs.
