As a Field Service Technician youll be the go-to expert foron-site diagnostics maintenance and repairof Caterpillar (CAT) Power Generation equipment and related systems. Youll work independently from a fully equipped Ohio CAT service truck servicing and performing:

  • CAT diesel and gas generators(5KW to 3MW)
  • Switchgear and ATS systems
  • Control panels and electrical distribution systems
  • Performload bank testingcommissioning andpreventive maintenance
  • Use diagnostic tools (e.g. CAT ET (Electronic Technician) SIS (Service Information System) and other computer-based diagnostic tools/software) to troubleshoot issues
  • Provideexceptional customer serviceand technical support
  • Ensure compliance withsafety protocolsand documentation standards

COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience withCAT Cummins Generac Kohler or Detroit Dieselgenerator systems
  • Familiarity withswitchgear brandslike Russelectric Lakeshore or Asco
  • Strongelectrical and mechanical troubleshootingskills
  • Ability to read and interpretwiring schematics and control diagrams
  • Military or field-based experience inequipment diagnostics and repairis highly valued
  • Comfortable working independently inoutdoor environments
  • Must own and safely use personal mechanics tools

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power generation systems plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in repairing diesel engines generators and industrial equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand walk climb or balance; stoop kneel and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
