Job Summary

As a Cloud Researcher on Datadogs Infrastructure Monitoring product team youll conduct deepresearch into popular and emerging cloud services to identify best practices for improving reliabilityincreasing performance and optimizing cost.
Youll work closely with multiple product teams to translate these findings into actionable recommendations embedded in the Datadog platform.
This role offers the opportunity to build broad knowledge in a wide range of technologies across layers of the stack and clouds as well as to help Datadogs growing base of 30000 customers to be more successful with their cloud adoption.

What Youll Do:
  • Use product adoption data as well as feedback from customers input from Datadog productteams and technology partners and other sources to identify and prioritize research areas(e.g. types of technologies specific providers)
  • Use a variety of methods including AI-assisted methods to conduct deep research intoprioritized areas to identify best practices for reliability performance and cost optimization
  • Document findings and collaborate with product teams to integrate findings into relevantDatadog products by identifying relevant data in the Datadog platform and writingrecommendation logic
  • Working with product partners define success metrics to measure efficacy ofrecommendations
  • Develop processes to monitor the usefulness over time and keep recommendationsup-to-date as the related technologies evolve
  • Partner with Marketing Community and other teams to publish findings through blog postsand other channels to strengthen Datadogs position as a thought leader in cloudoptimization

Who You Are:

  • You have 5 years of hands-on experience working with a variety of services from at leastone of the major public cloud providers (such as in a Solutions Architect Technical AccountManager or Developer Advocate role)
  • You are deeply curious about new technologies and enjoy diving into their inner workings
  • You have demonstrated experience optimizing cloud environments
  • You have strong analytical skills and an ability to define priorities from a long list of potentialopportunities
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can explain deep technicalinsights to non-expert stakeholders
  • You have prior experience with scripting SQL basic programming and AI-assisted research
  • You have prior experience publishing technical research such as in blog posts andwhitepapers or presenting at technical conferences
  • You have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Computer Science Information Technologyor equivalent experience
