This position is directly responsible for the operations maintenance and budgetary management of Halifax Water wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure for the purpose of environmental protection regulatory compliance and public health. This position requires a high degree of decision making skill and requires working independently.
Education: Minimum two year community college technical program applicable to Water or Wastewater Treatment or related discipline; a Level III Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Labour (NSEL) certification (or equivalent) as well as specialized courses in water/wastewater treatment. A combination of industry recognized wastewater treatment mechanical electrical plumbing or instrumentation training and experience may be considered.
Experience: Five years related experience in the wastewater treatment industry with demonstrated supervisory ability.
Certificates / Licenses / Registrations:
Valid NS Drivers License and willingness to use own vehicle and be willing to use their own vehicle in accordance with the Mileage Policy.
Must be willing to undertake and maintain the following safety training:
First Aid
WHMIS
Confined Space Entry
Fall Protection
Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Rigging
Lockout/Tagout
H2S Awareness
