The Senior Applications Scientist is responsible for serving as a subject matter expert on our bioreactor portfolio being a reference for field support and a key contributor for new product introduction projects.
This position reports to the Director of Upstream and Fluid Management Applications and Testing and is part of the Upstream and Fluid Management Research Development and Engineering Department located in Marlborough Massachusetts USA and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
- Work under limited supervision.
- Contribute to new-product-design requirements and to experimental design. Serve as a technical resource. Generate new ideas and employ them to solve technical challenges.
- Perform applications studies related to bioreactors and and report results accurately according to GDP.
- Produce high-quality technical reports for internal use and present your data. Produce work instructions and study plans.
- Apply expertise to solve customer problems.
Who you are:
- BS in a technical field related to biotechnology with >5 years of experience in a bioprocess working environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the running of stirred tank and WAVE bioreactors and in understanding the biochemistry of cell culture.
- Experience in protein analytics.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- MS degree.
- Experience in an R&D group that has launched products.
- Experience working in a very matrixed organization.
